On the menu is a range of dishes, with an option to indulge in Apricity’s tasting menu, which includes five (£65) or seven courses (£80) along with a wine pairing (£40- £50) for each dish. Led by multi-award-winning chef Chantelle Nicholson, Apricity is a celebration of conscious cooking with sustainability at the heart, with the use of locally-foraged ingredients and produce from small-scale farmers.ĭespite the hype surrounding the restaurant, there’s something warm and intimate about the minimalist space, making it the perfect spot to meet with friends and family or on a romantic date night. Top it all off with a tasty cocktail or two (I recommend the fantasti paloma) and you’ll have the full Coal Office experience.Īpricity is the newly-launched restaurant in the heart of Mayfair that everyone is talking about – and with good reason. The softy, doughy Yemeni brioche is a true taste of heaven and is accompanied by tahini, grated tomato and schug (you’ll probably want to order more than one and I can’t blame you!)Įverything is designed to be shared so go wild with the small plates, from the yellowtail sashimi with mango, amba pickled okra and red chill to the amazing spicy shakshuka aduma – a tomato and pepper stew with eggs, tahini, parsley pita and feta.Īnd if that’s not enough, go for Machneyuda’s polenta (Asparagus, truffle, mushroom ragout and parmesan) and lamb mesachen (leg of lamp, tropea onions, shallots, cucumber relish and lettuce cups) if you want to go big. If you’re not overly familiar with the cuisine, there are a few key dishes I can definitely recommend – starting with Kublah. The restaurant combines an immersive dining experience with traditional dishes found throughout the Middle East and Meditteranean and it’s a true treat for your tastebuds. If you’re looking to embark on a cool culinary journey filled with delicious small and large plates, Coal Office is definitely worth adding to your list. Be sure to make room for dessert, too, for the bubble tea and cotton tea cheesecake and koi fish panna cotta are truly exquisite. You’ll be hard pressed to share the other dishes though: we’d recommend the sticky beef short rib, black cod croquettes and sugar salt crisp squid from the small plates, and the lamb cutlets and signature Wok Fried Angry Bird once you get to the mains. There’s a focus on sharing dishes, staring with colourful dim sum that includes Iberico pulled pork gyoza and pearly king crab dumpling. Then there’s the food: elevated fusion dishes that marry elements of Chinese and European cuisine to brilliantly creative effect. Inspired by a traditional Chinese courtyard house, you’ll find cherry blossom chandeliers, wooden pagodas and a stunning skylight where you can dine under the night sky. It’s worth tearing yourself away from the bright lights, though, because the restaurant inside promises further delights. Here, you can sip a beautifully crafted cocktail and take a moment to appreciate the spectacular views of the city - time it with the sunset for bonus Instagram points. Housed on the rooftop of the Outernet’s Now building between New Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road, you’ll leave behind the busy crowds of Londoners jostling for the tube and take the lift six floors up, where the Tattu experience begins on the sky terrace. End the night with their bespoke Little Italy spritz cocktails and retire to Mama’s cool and quirky karaoke rooms for a sing-song with friends for the full experience.Ĭontemporary Chinese restaurant Tattu has been making waves in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Edinburgh over the past few years, and earlier in spring, it opened a flagship branch in the capital to give Londoners a taste of the hype. No small plates here – you can count on healthy servings before feasting on mouth-watering desserts (if you have the space, that is). Deep-fried dough balls filled with nduja and confit salmon spring rolls tempt you on the starter menu, followed by classics like chicken schnitzel, steaks and indulgent truffle fries. Mama Shelter’s world-inspired concept menu means there’s something from everywhere, and for everyone. ![]() Classic cocktail lovers equally won’t go wrong with a sweet but spicy Pisco Sour. The infamous hotel and restaurant opened in 2021, combining playful decor with dynamic dining. If there’s one restaurant that encapsulates the trendy liveliness of Shoreditch, it’s Mama Shelter.
